Spring is a time of renewal, hope, and connection. Across Asian, North African, and neighboring lands, many people and communities celebrate Nowruz (Newroz, Nawroz) - a Spring New Year that honors cycles of change, growth, and return.

So if the new year hasn’t fully landed for you since January, you are not alone. Many of our ancestors and communities of today celebrate the beginning of the year on the Spring Equinox.

We invite guests of all backgrounds to tap into your creativity and envision the year ahead in our gently guided vision board workshop, hosted in partnership with @mind.1.1 and facilitated by Sara of @prospecttherapy and Maryam of @maryamobeydtherapy. And shout out to @plantiitaseveryone’s favorite local plant shop for inviting us to gather!

What to expect:

🌀Guided meditative exercises, brief writing prompts, and mental health exploration by artists and licensed therapists will help you tap into your vision and wishes for the year.

👩🏽‍🎨 Simple demonstrations and 1:1 instruction will help you use paint, paper, collage, stickers, and 3D elements to be the artist you want to be.

🧶 We encourage you to bring photos, cut outs, your favorite magazines, pieces of fabric, accessories, postcards, stickers, or any other items you want to include on your board!

Date: Saturday, March 14

Time: 11am to 2pm

Location: @plantiitas at 2011 E 4th Street in Long Beach

Bring: Personal items and images you might include on your board. Plus intentions, openness, and a friend!

Registration: $33 includes all materials, at the link in bio @prospecttherapy or at mind11.org/events

and your audience is rifle?
You had to do this —
to write poetry with the tip of flame
and set fire to your fear and silence."
