An Intro to Cultural Integration in Therapy

When I was approached by the Kurdish-American Medical Association to be in conversation about integrating culture into practice from a Kurdish perspective on their podcast Mind Over Mountains, I found myself contemplating the many theoretical concepts I've come to learn through the past 15 years of systemic, social justice mentorship that I've received. The following short conversation comes with much excitement and appreciation, and some nervousness as I am learning to become more comfortable with speaking more publicly.

The roots of this conversation comes from grassroots, intersectional, and decolonial mentorship. I will write more on where this conversation could go, including integration of analytic research within the context of identity and dissasociation.

and your audience is rifle?
You had to do this —
to write poetry with the tip of flame
and set fire to your fear and silence."
